Jace signed with Virginia Tech for a Full Ride Scholarship!
Jace Howanitz was named the Las Vegas Sunset Region High School Female Swimmer of the Year for 2005--as a freshman! Patty began working with Jace in 2004 when both were new residents of Las Vegas. Patty continues to be Jace's "mental" coach.
A member of the Bishop Gorman High School Swim Team and the Clark County Sandpipers of Nevada Swim Club, Jace has risen quickly on the national scene. Jace's accomplishments include:

5/05 - Named Las Vegas Sunset Region High School Female Swimmer of the Year
5/05 - NV State High School Champion 100 Free
6/05 - Cottonwood Heights Invitational High Point 15 & over winner
5/06 - Named Nevada Girls' Swimmer of the Year for 2006, the second consecutive season!
2006 - Nevada State High School Champion 100 Free, 200 IM, 200 & 400 Free Relay
2006 - Achieved Spring National time in 200 IM
2006 - Named Swimmer of the Year for 4A Nevada Schools
2006 - Achieved All American times - 100 Free and 200 IM
2007 - Achieved National Short Course time in the 200 IM
2007 - Broke the city record (Knoxville, TN) for High Swim Area - 200 IM
2007 - Club Swimmer Gold Medal Winner (Tennessee) - 200 IM
2007 - Bronze Medal Winner for State Champion of Tennessee

Jace moved to Knoxville, Tennessee at the end of her Junior year (2006). Patty continued to coach Jace long-distance, and continued to watch Jace pile up State records and National times.
